Konso – “Kaffa Chafo”

The Konso community is renown for its sustainable agricultural practices so much so the community’s village is designated as a UNESCO as one of the world’s heritage sites. The “Kaffa Chafo” single makes use of the traditional flute (the washint) of Northern Ethiopia and the conventional trumpet on a foundation of unique traditional Konso vocals. The single is a harvest work song whereby farmers encourage each other to work harder
