Tigrigna – “Guwayla”

Tigriyans have a rich cultural heritage, which incorporates many of the traditional Northern and Central Ethiopia musical instruments such as the traditional flute (washint). The “Guwayla” single is based upon the unique Tigriyan rhythm (“Guwayla”) played with the ancient “embilta” wind musical instrument and traditional drums, Negarit Band .also uses the traditional Ethiopian washint (or flute) and keyboards in order to imitate the sounds of the embilta. The single ends with polyrhythmic sounds of multiple musical instruments and a drum solo.
